Jean Huang is an experienced pianist, teacher, event pianist and accompanist. She is currently a Master's of Music in Piano Performance candidate at the Manhattan School of Music. She has already attained her both of her Bachelor's degrees in Music (Piano) and also a degree in Business with a double focus on Human Resources and International Business from the University of Washington in June 2008. She is now in the last year of her master's degree at MSM.

Huang began taking piano lessons at age five, and has been an active performer and teacher. She is currently studying with Professor Epstein and Professor Schub at Manhattan School of Music and has previously studied with Dr. Regina Yeh- Piano Chair at Pacific Lutheran University, Professor Emeritus Bela Siki, and Mary Toy (NCTM).

Huang has won honors and distinctions both in her undergraduate degree and outside of school. In 2009, Huang took second place in the Schubert Club National Scholarship Competition in the College division and also won second place at the Bauru-Atlanta Competition in Atlanta in 2009. An active performer, Huang was invited as a guest performer at the Washington State Music Teachers' Association's annual conference in June 2008, performed at the NAAAP scholarship gala in October 2009, and performed at a scholarship gala as the scholarship winner from the NAAAP/CAEW for Excellence in Music scholarship she also received in 2009. In 2010, Huang was a finalist in the Coeur D'Alene Concerto competition. While at the University of Washington, Huang was known for both her pianistic and academic excellence. Huang was the recipient of several academic scholarships including the University of Washington Undergraduate Scholar Award for 2004-2005 and the Evert McCabe Fellowship Award for 2004.

Huang continues to strive to further heights of musical excellence and is an active attendee of conferences, seminars, masterclasses, and festivals. Huang was invited to attend an adult piano seminar at Rocky Ridge in Colorado in August 2008. The following year of 2009, she and received a merit partial schoalrship to attend the Sewanee Music Festival in Tennessee, where Huang was a finalist in the concerto competition. Huang was also selected for the Marrowstone Summer Music Festival in Bellingham, WA in 2009, as a Piano Fellow, which was a full scholarship position. In 2010, Huang travelled to Europe where she attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Prague International Piano Festival, where she performed in a recital and masterclass. Also in 2010, Huang attended the Vienna International Piano Academy.

An experienced teacher, Huang has been teaching piano for the past seven years. Huang served as the treasurer for the UW MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) collegiate chapter during her senior year at UW in 2008, was awarded the Music Teacher's National Association (MTNA) Star Award in 2008, and was a member of the Eastside MTNA from 2008-2009. Before moving to New York to attend graduate school, Huang successfully maintained a studio with over twenty students and held bi-annual student recitals. In 2009, one of Huang's students that she taught from scratch, took second place at the Eastside Performing Arts Festival in her first time entering. Others of Huang's students received praise in adjudications and performances. Other than teaching and playing solo classical piano performances, Huang performs at weddings, and also accompanies singers and other instrumentalists.
